About Me
Adam J. Whitlatch is the author of over sixty poems and short stories spanning the genres of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. His work has been featured in numerous print and electronic markets. He began writing in 1998, but then started writing full time in 2005 when he began work on his first novel, an urban fantasy vampire story.
Adam enjoys travelling to various science fiction conventions around the Midwest, often speaking on the subjects of writing, young adult literature, the portrayal of the undead in popular media, and post-apocalyptic survival. He is also an advocate for water conservation and campaigns against water mining and corporate water piracy. He occasionally teaches writing classes for the Villages Folk School in Van Buren County, Iowa.
Adam currently attends Southeastern Community College, and is working toward his Associate of the Arts degree in Literature. In 2010 he became a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He expects to graduate in May 2012. Adam’s ultimate goal is to teach high school English and theatre.
Adam lives on a small farm in southeastern Iowa with his wife, Jessica, and their three children.
